| In late 2003 Geoffroy Martin (friend of Sébastien-Charles Boitel and bass player for the band Déjà-vù) died of an heart attack during his sleep.
Sébastien-Charles decided to organize a trubute concert for his bass player friend.
Guitar player (Bernard Lebeuf) and Bass player (Érick Lamontagne) joind Sébastien-Charles for this project. They did the tribute at F.A.C.E. school where Geoffroy and Sébastien-Charles sutied music in there teens. They played mostly Rush instrumental, King Crimson, Tribal Tech and Déjà Vù covers,
In 2005 they decide to give a chance to composition.
They needed a band name, Bernard asked Sébastien-Charles 2 words that don’t fit together so Sébastien-Charles came up with meat & Pinata. Since they do instrumentals Bernard changed meat for sound. Sound Piñata was born. If you see them live you will see that the piñata is hit quite hard!

Bernard ‘’Dzy-Bern’’ Lebeuf : Guitar
Bernard learned guitar in his teenage years. Back then he was influanced by Rush, Metallica, Iron Maiden, Uzeb, King Crimson and Yes, later influances were. Scott Henderson, Paco de Lucia, Stevie Ray Vaughan and many prog metal players. The result is a nice blend of funk, prog rock, metal and fusion jazz. He his the hard rock & funk composer of the band.
Érick ‘’Moon-Tan’’ Lamontagne : Bass
Érick studied music to a very high level, he was influanced by Jaco Pastorius, Gary Willis (tribal Tech) Alain Caron (uzeb), King Crimson, Stravinsky and a little Rush. He is concidered as one of the best bass player in Québec. He plays what people call ‘’the serious bass’’ a 1981 F (brand) 5 string frettless bass. A unique sound that is shown of in his solos that take place in almost every track. He is the ‘’virtuose’’ and main composer of the band.
Sébastien-Charles ‘’Strangiato’’ Boitel :Drums
Sébastien-Charles heard Rush for the first time in 1977 and was Strucked by ‘’Rush compulsive disorder’’ when he heard La Villa Strangiato and YYZ. Self thaught drummer that can not play a very fast drum roll and plays very loud. The volume comes from the drum kit (a 1982 Tama Superstar). The result, a blend of power funk, fusion and composed beat.
He is the Piñata banger and the promotion guy of the band.
